So, I've been invited for a "casual chat" at a tiny little family owned sandwich shop. I have no idea what to wear as even smart casual will be far to smart (I just walked past an hour ago and they are wearing shorts and vest tops). Any ideas people?

Maybe just some jeans and a top? Not just a t-shirt but perhaps a nice top and then you are neither being too smart or too casual.

Smart casual will be ideal, and don't get taken in by a 'casual chat' - it's an interview, so consider the questions and your answers.

casual chat means it will just be a laid back interview, they will ask normal questions like whats your experience, your availability etc, but since its a family owned shop and a casual chat they most likely wont ask pretentious BS questions such as 'why do you want to work for this company' and 'what 5 qualities can you bring to our team?' that they would ask at a corporate store, lmao. dont worry about it
