# Interesting interview question Watch

1. How would u guys answer this question in an interivew? - I am baffled.

if British people were the tallest in the world how would you prove it?
2. Publish an article in a large enough news source saying "BRITONS OFFICIALLY TALLEST IN THE WORLD" with some bs source

Humans are so ready to challenge anything, so if this really were the case you would find no evidence from anyone to challenge your point. If there was evidence suggesting otherwise, people would be very quick to publish it in contention.

Well before you do anything you would need to consider the question of what does tallest actually mean? Are you taking it to mean average height of males, females, the height of the tallest person in your county, average height of 15/16/17/insert age here year olds etc etc. It's only once you have established the parameters of the problem that you could begin to come up with a way to test it

I suppose it really depends on what this is an interview question for?

Taking a scientific approach, you could design and do a cross-sectional study looking at the average height of British people. You could then do cross-sectional studies in every other country in the world to determine the average height of people there using the same methodology. Then you could do a statistical analysis of the above studies to see if there was a significant difference in the height of British people compared to people from other countries.

You could also take another approach, which would probably be less accurate, and gather data on height and other demographic of large population of people across the world. You could then do regression analysis to determine if there is an association between ethnicity and height.

Another possible approach would be to publish a study stating that British people are the tallest. You could then wait for researchers in other countries to publish studies suggesting this is not true. Then you could wait for someone to do a systematic review on the topic to see who is the tallest
