Hi, I'm currently at secondary school and am wondering how I can pray 5 times a day? Fajr, Zuhr, Maghrib and Isha I think I can do however for Asr, I am at school and the place is very unhygienic so I don't feel comfortable praying at school. Chewing gum is scattered all over the floor and even if I did pray at school, I would have to leave the class. And when I am out, I will most probably miss the Maghrib prayer so it is permissible to miss it? Thank you.

    Fajr - Home
    Zuhr - Lunchtime
    Asr - After school
Maghrib - Home (Is going out and enjoying yourself more important or you prayer?)
    Isha - Home

    Not permissible to miss.

For Zuhr, do it at lunchtime with a Prayer Mat
However, due to current prayer times you can do all prayers after Zuhr at home
How are you at school at Asr time?
Magrib is past 8 where we live, so you have time

    Hi there,

It is said that “All the earth is a mosque except for graveyards and bathrooms.” I understand the struggle in praying in school but can't you ask your teachers if they can designate a room for you (it can be as small as a shoe box).
Also I have read that if you use a salah mat on the carpet your salah will be valid (in terms of validity in cleanliness)
As well as this the term "unclean" is usually not regarding house hold waste e.g. gum or dust but other things like bodily fluids, excretion etc. (From what I've read)

"Ibn Qudaamah (may Allah have mercy on him) said: If he prays on a cloth, the edge of which is impure, or if there is beneath his feet of rope that is tied to something impure, but what he is praying on is pure, then his prayer is valid, regardless of whether or not the impurity moves when he moves. That is because he is not carrying the impurity and is not praying on it; rather his prayer mat is in contact with it. This is like if he prays on pure ground that is connected to impure ground. End quote from al Mughni (402)"

I think if you put a prayer mat down your salah should be permissible Insha'Allah

    Allah knows best.

I'm pretty sure your school should be providing somewhere for you to pray during the day. Where I work we have a large Muslim community so we have 2 proper prayer rooms (1 male, 1 female)... if your school has less Muslim students this might not be feasible but they should be able to provide you with a private and clean space if you wish to pray during the day.

What time do you finish school? I finish college at 4 and get home for around 10 past 4 and pray as soon as I get in the house because Asr doesn't start till around 5. I know you should pray as soon as you can but I really don't like praying at school, I would much rather pray at home where I'm comfortable and can concentrate better.

Every time I think about delaying my prayer a thought pops into my mind that says is this really more important than praying and bowing down to your lord who has blessed you so very much?
And trust me when I say I run to pray afterwards. 😊
