If I do an accounting and finance degree at LSE or Warwick and then join a big 4 audit/assurance scheme, roughly how much quicker will I become chartered than someone who joins the big4 without an accounting degree? I've seen that the ACA requires 450 days of professional work experience... so how much time will I save by doing an accounting degree than doing just a general degree and going into a grad scheme?

It won't be any quicker as training contracts are 3 years minimum with a required 450 of actual work experience days which will only be counted whilst working as part of the training contract.

However the benefit of doing a related degree is that there may be some exemptions that can be taken, but it depends on the big 4's policy as to whether they'll allow you to use them.
