I was wondering if anyone would be able to give me any advice or information that I need to know about university! I'm just getting a bit stressed lately as all of my friends seem to know everything and I have no clue as I've never had a family member attend university, so I struggle to get any good realistic advice and key knowledge! I was just wondering if there is anything I need to do before I sign up or any tests that would be useful to do!? I only ask because I was told earlier that the UKcat registration and booking has opened today and if it wasn't for my friend I would never have found out this and it's just made me think if to whether i'm missing out on any other important information I should know?
Are there any sites or magazines etc that keep you update with things a undergraduate should be doing whilst preparing themselves for applying to university?

Thecompleteuniversityguide is always a good place to start, though i guess prerequisites that come to mind are:

    - knowing what you want to study
    - knowing what grades you are likely to get and universities around this mark
    - Universities that are good for your subject (overall institution rank is irrelevant really)
    - how close/far away you want to be from home, not the biggest factor depending on yourself but is a deal breaker for some.
    - Career avenues and how the university will help you achieve them
