    Hi guys!
    I am just confused about how we calculate the final grade for IB.
    For example, if I get 3 in chemistry paper 1, 6 in paper 2, 7 in paper 3 and 5 in IA, what is the overall grade I will get? It's just confusing.

    You have to consider the weights given to each paper.

    Say you do HL Chemistry:

    Paper 1 = 20% and you got (for example) 30/40 = (75%)
    Paper 2 = 36% and you got 70/90 = (78%)
    Paper 3 = 20% and you got 40/50 = (80%)
    IA = 24% and you got 35/48 = (73%)

    You'd take the individual scores and adjust them according to their weights

    P1 = 75*0.2 = 15
    P2 = 78*0.36 = 28.08
    P3 = 80*0.2 = 16
    IA = 73*0.24 = 17.52

    Now you add these up to get a score out of 100 and then you compare with the official IB grade boundaries -- you can easily find these online.

    So: 15+28.02+16+17.52 = 76.6 = 77
    thats 77/100 and in May 2015 (TZ1) this was just a 7.
