Which do you think matters most, the subject choice or the reputation of the university when it comes to jobs? For example, engineering or maths at a uni lower in league tables vs. geology/geophysics at a top university?

The subject choice matters more, because you won't excel in something that you're uninterested in, regardless of the ranking of the uni you're at.

Depends on what jobs you are looking at. If it's engineering, then geology/geophysics won't be much use regardless of where it's at, and the vice versa.

University ranking is entirely and completely irrelevant. Pick your subject, then look at subject-specific rankings, or get someone who knows what they're talking about to give you a review of the courses.

Thanks for the replies! The problem I have is I like all these subjects and dont know much about careers. Perhaps finance etc.
