Does Waxing you Legs hurt ?

At the moment i'm shaving my legs. The hair grows back quickly & quite thickly. So am considering Waxing - Does it hurt ?

It does hurt a bit but as long as you remove it quickly it shouldn't be too bad. I'd say you should give it a try, if you don't like it you can always go back to shaving!
Even better than waxing is epilating- epilators cost a one off of from £40+ (depending on what you buy). Its works like waxing but without all the mess and fuss plus once you've bought the epilator its always there and you don't need to buy anything else. I'd choose epilating over waxing everytime...
Yes. Waxing hurts, but you get used to it. I switch between shaving and having professional waxes - I'd always recommend having your first wax done professionally.

Epilators hurt even more imo, and I wouldn't dream of buying one after having tested one before. It was absolute agony!
The first one hurts but once you get used to it it doesn't hurt too much. Use a wax for sensitive skin and my advice for the first time get it done proffesionaly as opposed to doing it yourself. Worth a shot.

It is a bit of a shock the first time you do it but you get used to it pretty quick and then after that its fine. Maybe I just have a high pain threshold for it...:p:

I think Mum uses one. Does it make a whizzing sort of noise ?
I have found that if you have been shaving the hair previously for a long period of time that waxing hurts more in that area.

Having said that the results of waxing last longer, the hair doesnt come back as thick or prickly and sometimes if your lucky the hair stops growing back atall.

It hurts a bit more, but id choose waxing as opposed to shaving any day.

What's the pain like ? Does it sting ? Or is it a sharp pain ?

It's not just you! The first time it can really hurt because it's just a shock to your legs, but after that you barely feel a thing.

Epilation is much better than waxing!

My friend wants to wax my legs tonight !

Not sure i want her to do it. scared of the pain
It's a very quick sharp pain which goes away after about 2 seconds.

I prefer to shave though, not because of the pain, just because it's cheaper, quicker and you keep on top of the re-growth easier I find.

No it doesn't, I get mine waxed all the time. It hurts the first time, but you will get used to it.

the only issue i have with waxing is that you have to wait for some regrowth before you can do it again

i just had my legs waxed literally 10 mins ago. Relatively painless, apart from the ankle which is a bit of a bitch.

i'm kind of pissed off though, because i've been growing my hairs out for SO long, but the hairs are so fine that the waxing didn't quite get rid of it all so i'll prob still have to shave the odd random :frown:. she did use tweezers on the ones she could see that didn't quite get picked up by the wax, but there are still some bitching slackers that were left behind!
it hurt for me about 2 seconds after i pulled the strip off and then it was fine.

its worth trying to see what you think.

I think the pain is overated though hehe

:eek3: Me too!

I find the pain also depends slightly on the 'time of the month'. If I am about to come on, it hurts a bit more.

I'd recommend having your first wax done by a professional, at least.
