    Hi all,

I'm at university due to a family bereavement I've had to miss a lot of days which I've had a two day extension until noon today (from the 5th). However, in the last two days I've been very ill and been vomiting (I've got proof) which I've had to take a rest and miss completing my work.

At my university, their is a 'grace period' were students are allowed to submit until 23.59 (cut off for assignments is 11.59) without any penalties. I'm not sure if this applies to extensions? Under the policy handbook of the university it states that all students are allowed to submit in the grace period without any penalties.

On the deadline day for other students on my module, which was the 5th for them because I had an extension a few students did submit work before 23.59 using the grace period, instead of before noon.

If I do submit work using the grace period (even though the deadline is by 12 noon today) surely I will not be penalised, since it states in the policy handbook (where rules and regulations are made regarding exams, plagiarism) I can use the grace period and other students have done the same thing for this assessment?

I would think grace periods would still apply to extensions, however 2 days for the sake of bereavement isn't much of an extension so i m unsure as to why you werent offered a bit more time ?

I asked for a 2 day extension, in hindsight I should have asked for an extra 2 days and I literally did miss a week.
