hey guys before I get into this im NOT one of those girlfriends who needs to check up on or go through someones phone.

so ill start with a bit of background, when we first started dating last year he took me out somewhere and whilst we were having lunch he was on his phone leaning over the table opposite me with the screen tilted towards him so he probably didn't realise I could slightly still see the phone screen. I glanced down mid convo without meaning to look but saw him deleting pictures of women in underwear and they were all selfies. I confronted him about it and he said they were of a cosplayer he likes but doesn't know in real life. he just took them from her facebook, he said he deleted them so I wouldn't think he was cheating on me. he also said he was being honest by admitting it as he could have denied it (I wasn't 100% sure of what the pictures were as they were thumbnails he was mass deleting rather than clicking to open out each individual pic in his phone gallery). Anyway I let it go as it was early in the relationship but from then on I felt a bit uneasy.

fast forward to last week... I stayed over at his and we were messing about tickling each other. I reached over to grab his phone to take a picture of us as mine was dead and charging. I asked for his pin without knowing iphones don't need a pin to get to the camera like mine does.

he froze and said nothing, I asked again lightheartedly as all I wanted to do was that and again he said nothing and reached over to unlock it and put it straight onto the camera without me able to see so I let it go but later it started to bug me and I texted him asking why hed refused to give it.

    anyway heres his reply:

"Don't know, I don't tell it to anyone not even family even though I have nothing to hide on it. I must admit I do get a bit paranoid about people going on my phone because its logged into my facebook and stuff even though I know u wouldn't mess with any of it, it still makes you think twice when someone asks to use your phone"

I get that people want privacy and im really not someone to go through their boyfriends phone but I thought the reply was really odd... if he trusts me and has nothing to hide why would he flat out refuse and why would it make him paranoid that his facebooks logged on it?

am I being too paranoid over this due to the past or is he being shifty?

I find it strange that your bf chose to delete pictures of women in their undies while you were out eating he couldn't delete them when he was on his own or did he want you to notice them?

Listen to your gut if you feel uneasy or uncomfortable then maybe he is being shifty but i don't share my pin with anyone either and i feel uncomfortable showing my phone to anyone as i don't want them going through my images or messages.

he was going to show me a funny picture or a photo he had taken on that day out, I cant quite remember which is why he started deleting other photos which he disguised as "I cant fine it hang on a min"

I don't like it when people look at my phone even though I have nothing to hide, at the same time I don't like it when people hide their phone from me

To be honest I get pretty anxious/uncomfortable about my girlfriend going on my phone and I don't have anything to hide, I just prefer to have some privacy in that regard.
