Butlins at Bognor

I've been sort of roped in to going on a hen weekend and it's at Butlins at Bognor Regis later this month, and is on one of their "Adult party weekends".

Just wondering whether anyone has been? Whats it like? Is it full of chavs? What sort of facilities are there, and what's the night life like? Have never been so just want to know what to expect of it.

Thanks!

will do!

I'm going with a fairly mixed age group - the hen is in her 20s but aunts/mums in their 50s are going, and my cousin and I will be the youngest I think. I wish we were going on a 90s/80s weekend, school reunion etc because at least then I'd know and like the music - our weekend is 60s themed :frown: I'm not expecting great things but hopefully it will turn out ok!

Eeek not sure if the weekend i'm going has a theme, its called "hot summer party" so guessing its aimed at younger people, with cheesy chart music lol.

I worked two seasons at butlins...

Adult weekenders are a mixed bag, you will either love or hate them depending on what sort of person you are. it is certainly not a classy place and for the price you pay you should certainly not expect luxury

the vast majority of the clientel will be drunk chavs who are wasted, if you are with a group you should have no problems - there will be a MASSIVE amount of stag and hen nights

drinks are pretty expensive in all the bars, prices are raised for adult weekends - so if you are big drinkers make sure that you pre-drink in your accom before going out as it will get very very expensive

bars do not take cards and all the cashpoints on site charge, if you want cash get cashback at the shop

24 hour drinking and arguing chavs on your accom line might make it hard to sleep due to noise, if anyone is bothering you just get security on the case as they deal with disturbances very quickly

centre stage is the best place to spend your evening, its the biggest venue and is likely to have the bests acts on. however, check out the programme as reds sometimes has good performers. your best bet is to ask the staff in venues such as centre what they would suggest you see, many of them see the acts every week and know what is good

all the food on site is massively overpriced, as is the mini supermarket shop - go into town there is a morrisons that is a 10 min walk or wetherspoons etc

this might sound trivial but MAKE SURE that you wash your hands properly after going to the toilet etc, with all the people there bugs travel really quick

Centre Stage - Cross between a theater & nightclub
Reds - smaller version of centre stage
Jacks - jumping jacks cope
Irish bar - small bar
Bar Rosso - cocktail bar (be aware cocktails are pre-mixed and rather weak)

you are best to start in centre stage then move to jacks late for a dance

sorry, just read the above and it sounds really negative - you will have a great time

just remember its fantastic value for money

Lol this thread was posted a year ago originally! I went last June and had an OK weekend actually. The accomodation was nothing special and the food was a bit school dinner-ish (didn't eat much dinner and wasn't fussed for breakfast). I'm pretty sure my cousin used a card in Jaks but can't really remember.
We spent most of the time in Jaks - it was a 60s weekender so Beatles tributes etc and the Reds performances weren't really my thing (some of our party went in there but me and my cousins - the younger members of the group - stayed mainly in Jaks where the music was quite good), after starting the night in some of the pubs around the main pavillion thing.
We didn't actually do that much - Friday was arriving, unpacking and drinks to say hello to everyone and then out with our Bunny girl accessories (yes, I even had a XXX's Bognor Bunny" t-shirt which I was forced to wear by the bridal party..the shame.. I've never felt so molested in my life with the amount of guys who thought they were hilarious and so original pinching my 'tail'!!). Saturday we spent most of the day in the swimming place and then out again at night. Didn't actually sleep on the Saturday night.. went back to the apartment of some guys we'd been talking to all weekend and ended up not sleeping and eventually getting back to our room at about 8am! And then due to a few changes of plan most of us left Sunday afternoon. All in all it was basic but kind of what I expected from Butlins. It's not great but with a nice group of people and a few drinks I had a good weekend.
