I'm really scared about what is going to happen when I move out for university. How will I make friends? How on earth will I cope up with living on my own etc? Is anyone else experiencing the same?

Everyone starts in the same position, people are keen to talk to each other. Its easier in Hall, buy if not Hall then you cna make friends off your course and by joining societies. Once you make a few friends then you cna use their friends to make even more friends. You'll be fine if you make an effort to talk to people and get involved.

Great advice 999tigger! It's really important tot remember that there will be so many other people having the same worries and difficulties as you are. Does the University you are going to have student advisors in it's Student Union, or any sort of Student Mentor scheme? These sort of people are great to drop in on for a chat.

University is hands down the easiest place to make friends (outside of maybe joining the military or something else that similarly forces the issue). Looks like you're going to Cardiff, from your posting history. They've got a whole lot of societies, so pick a whole bunch that sound vaguely interesting, go along to the lot of them in the first week or two, and stick with the ones you like.

I had my parents visiting me practically every week during the first term!

Their Student Union may be able to help signpost you, and your university may not yet have sent out the full information for starting yet.
