I don't really. I too see crying as for the weak. If I start crying IMO I have lost control of the situation and I have no power or respect for myself.

I'm a very emotionally closed person. I also don't think badly of other people who cry, in fact I envy that they can feel completely overwhelmed and reliant on others, I think it makes them humaine.

I have been crying a lot recently, my friend died 5 weeks ago and i have been finding things difficult esp with exams and everything.

The last time anyone saw me cry was my friend about a month ago. I was in a lot of pain (i have kidney problems!) and just couldn't hold it in. Before that my boyfriend saw me cry lots at the funeral.

I've started to cry fairly often recently, for odd, stupid little things.

My boyfriend and friends know when to not comfort me and when to . I like the fact that I have people who know that I just need to have a good cry sometimes . I have these periods where I'll either be massively, massively happy, then have a huge moment where I can't cope with anything(I literally go to the other end of the scale). And, I get these moments where I don't feel anything AT ALL. I'm neutral, almost. I feel like a zombie.

A good cry reminds me that I'm still alive, lol. Reminds me that I have feelings .

Mind you...am going to cry soon, too! I've had two hours sleep in the past forty hours, and I have four exams coming up today.

Arghh.

uh oh! i hope they go well lostinfantasies, if not have a good cry it makes it all feel better!

To the person who said they thought that crying is a sign of weakness, I understand that point of view but it really isn't. I don't recommend keeping all your emotions in. It is better to cry if that is what you feel like doing. It might help you to cry alone because I find that helps me (I don't like people knowing if I'm upset because it happens too often) but it is far better to cry and let it all out than let it build up until you can no longer cope.

i cried quite a bit recently but that was due to depression, but i hardly ever cry now.

Not often at all.. If I do it's generally at night.. staring into oblivion over a whisky and a couple of cigarettes.. (wow that sounded fun fun.. )

Well by fun fun.. I mean terribly depressing.. but eh well.. It helps me reflect over things in the silence of the early hours of the morning.. It's also a time when it feels ok to cry and the whisky helps with this.. and if i'm drinking whisky - cigarettes are part of the meal...

i'd love to just sit in the garden, or my favorite on a warm clear night, with a brandy or something, and just reflect in the serenity, and if i cry, i cry...

unfortunatly, cigarettes won't be on the menu because i don't smoke, but i don't know, the odd cigar wouldn't go amiss

crying is very good i think. it clears the soul of pent up emotion.

Personally I don't really understand people who have difficulty actually crying. I'd consider it more weird to not cry and the idea of it being percieved as a weakness...

Unfortunatly that would include me :frown:

Yes cigars are rather civilised aren't they.. - out here in Argentina they happen to be dirt cheap so i'm definitely bringing back a box.

I've just been through two winters in a row.. so I haven't exactly been feeling on top of the world - also what with my numerous health scares and terrrible stress levels (and most probably depression) it has increased how often I feel like crying. I suppose it is positive.. but I don't like to make a habit of it.. Sometimes it makes me think I'm going slightly cuckoo..

define cry.

I probably have a couple of tears a few times a week. But properly cry? Every couple of months I guess, can't say i record it.

too often i think :s

Reply 76

:hmmmm2: last summer I think... never cried so much in a long time.

When other people cry over minor things i seem to get goosebumps instead... weird.

Depending on the things someone cries about... I usually wonder whether crying is a sign of passion or compassion whatever...

Though someone sort of told me once that someone might just be crying to make themselves feel better, even if it was caused by someones elses death rather than feel compassion for the dead person...

I wonder.
