I was offered a part time job at Sainsbury's Local and my induction is this Thursday. I was wondering what I should wear to this induction?

Go into a local store and see what the men or women are wearing. Then wear that. Certainly not jeans or trainers but smart with shoes.

relatively smart and relatively practical... supermarket uniforms (and those at a lot of other places) seem to be standardising on polo shirt and dark combat/workwear trousers. if you've got a polo top and some dark trousers that'd be ideal.

They'll be wearing the uniform. I've read some places that casual is fine on the induction

Then wear the same standard/style of clothing as the uniform ie if they wear polo shirts, wear a polo shirt, if no-one is wearing jeans or trainers, don't wear jeans or trainers. You always wear what the working attire is, or slightly smarter.

I wouldn't risk it. Be smart. Dress smart. Sainsburys are a professional organisation. All of their office and support staff will be suited and booted. All store workers wear a smart uniform. Trousers and shirt with shoes is the minimum.

Just don't wear a Watain t shirt or anything equally outlandish and you'll be fine.

Just wear something smart or smart casual you'll be ask to sign some documents and you'll recieve your uniform on the day plus remember to read the staff handbook properly especially the bits near the end.
