Hello,
I'm having difficulty interpreting what Anderson and Pichert (1978) found in their study (linked below).

It looks into the effect on encoding and recall of schemas, but I don't understand the conclusion.

I would have thought that being allocated a specific schema would have increased the schema specific encoding, but is this study saying that we can encode all information, but only recall those suiting our scehmas?
