I am choosing my IB subjects for next year and I am planning to choose IB Psychology HL because I don't like the subjects in the arts category. I didn't study Psychology in my igcse course because the school didnt have it at the time. Would it be very hard if I choose it as HL and start at year 12 for my IBDP ?

Hiya! I moved this to the IB forum for you - you're more likely to get a good answer here

Apparently not hard but not easy. Quite a lot of science/Bio in it but it is an interesting subject.
No subject at HL is easy in the IB. Choose what you enjoy - it should be easier then!

    Hi,

I've just completed the IB Psychology exams today so hopefully I can give you a good insight into your question! During the first year of studying Psychology at HL I really struggled to understand how to answer the essay questions for both paper 1 and paper 2. To answer your question, yes IB Psychology is difficult in terms of the amount of content you need to know for all 3 papers as well as the exact way in which the examiners want you to answer the essay questions given. Although the papers are incredibly annoying as you learn cast amounts of content to only be tested on perhaps 2 or 3 things for each section, as long as you make sure that you keep up do date with class notes, understand as much as you can in class by asking the teacher questions and really make sure you know the different questions that may be asked for each paper then you should be okay. The content itself is actually very interesting but I will not lie to you the exams are perhaps more difficult than others. Although I'm pretty sure this is the case for most of the IB course!

    Hope this helps
