Hi, so I've firmed my conditional offer for Musical Theatre and Acting for Film starting September 2016 and originally I was looking at the Stockbridge Halls as I really like the location and how they're fitted out. But my parents are worried that I'll be distancing myself from everyone before I've even started by choosing to live off campus. Is this true for anyone? What's the overall opinion of Stockbridge? And is it a mix of mature and undergrad students or more one or the other? That was another of their worries - that all the people on my course would be on campus and I'd be stuck at Stockbridge - are there any other people planning to do the same course who are looking at Stockbridge?
    There, gazillions of questions over

    Hi AnnaBeth21,

I'll look for some students who have lived in Stockbridge to come and answer your concerns and put your mind at rest

Hi I currently live at Stockbridge and I don't think you would be isolating yourself living here! there's lots of socialising that goes on! I really like the Stockbridge campus because you make friends with people in the different blocks and many people from your course! It's generally a mixture of students - also some who are based at the bognor campus. It's nice because you have a 30 minute walk which you can use to socialise with friends. You'll make friends with people who live on campus too -especially during your lectures/dance lessons. I like the fact it's away from campus as then you don't spend the whole time living at uni - it's nice to have that break.

Hi! I live at Stockbridge currently, and you shouldn't worry. You won't be isolating yourself at all from campus, I've never had any problems with it. Plus, you'll meet a real mix of people who live in various accommodation, so you won't be isolated at all. There's a Wetherspoon's right next door, so if you don't want to go up to Zee Bar, you can just go there with your friends.

Living off campus is brilliant no bones about it. Being at Stockbridge allows you to have a break from the "buzz" of university life. From living both on and off campus at the university. I can certainly say I preferred living off campus more. You certainly won't be isolated from things going on at the uni and you'll be with your flatmates bonding with them and course mates that live in Stockbridge. This year at Stockbridge it has been mainly Undergrad students and a mix of all courses. Generally speaking you'll get put with at least one person on a similar degree program to you. All is well at the Stockbridge no strife to be had

Hi, I live in Stockbridge at the moment, just coming towards the end of my first year and I love it so much! You definitely don't need to worry about isolating yourself, Stockbridge is huge and you get a really nice mix of students in each flat from lots of different courses, i'm on Sport and live with Musical Theatre and other Sport students. It's so easy to make friends with all the other flats and blocks too, there's always something going on! I would say it's mostly undergrad students as mature students (this year at least) tend not to live in halls. Hope that's helped a bit

Hey! I stayed in Stockbridge in my first year and everyone actually found it the most sociable of halls! You definitely won't feel isolated as it is a big place and there are always people around! I found three of my best friends/course friends there although they are pretty strict with visitors and people staying over, if they're part of Stockbridge it's not an issue, and there were always people from other flats and blocks in our flat socialising anyway, doing pre drinks etc.. As for mature students I didn't know of any when I was there but it just depends really! We have residential advisors too who were popping over occasionally to check on us and giving us invites to events etc. Also Stockbridge is really close to the station and to town so you're not out of the way at all. Hope this helps!
