Which side does DNA polymerase bind to e.g 3' end or 5' end and which side does it attach nucleotides to. Bit confused about the whole prime thing in DNA replication tbh??? :/

So DNA polymerase only attaches to the 3' end. If you're confused by what this means, then look on google at a typical nucleotide, you'll see that the pentose sugar at the centre is made up of 5 carbons. Each carbon is named 1-prime (1') to 5-prime (5'). The 1' is bound to the base, the 3' is has an OH and the 5' is bound to a phosphate. Nucleotides can only be added by forming a bond between another nucleotide and that OH group on the 3' carbon.
