My friend recieved inheritance on their 18th birthday and they are currently completing their student finance application. Does this need to be declared and is it classed as income? Or is it the interest that is classed as income?

I just asked my friend and they get interest of about £35 a month (£420 a year ish) is that enough that you have to declare?

    I had a bit less so I think it's not a problem.
