    Do both

Solomon papers are generally a bit harder than regular Edexcel papers. They can be a useful way to prepare for unexpected questions that are different from recent papers IF you are already confident with the material.
Gold papers are a good way to practice the most challenging questions that Edexcel have set in recent years. They also incorporate some questions from regional and international A level exams that have tried out new ways of asking questions. It's definitely worth doing international papers to try a broader range of questions.
The mixed exercises and review exercises in the official text books are also a good way to prepare for questions that haven't appeared on recent exam papers.
A quick look at some OCR-MEI papers is worth a shot if you have time as Edexcel appear to have been borrowing ideas from other examiners to help them produce less predictable questions.
