What do you think about this documentary?

I'd say its very well made for the budget that was allocated!

Persuasive. Puts into another perspective why all these politicians and lawyers want to stay.

It sucks.

I'll just paste from another thread on the same thing:

(Original post by gladders)
The video is entirely misleading. It seems not to grasp the difference between a free trade zone and the Single Market. It also ignores the benefits of negotiating trade deals as a group, to punch above your weight, rather than trying to make a deal isolated.

And we can negotiate our own deals - Osborne did one with China last year - we just have to respect the ones we are party to as an EU Member. That's ordinary, good politics.

Unelected EU Commissioners? Just like unelected Lords or 'unelected' Cabinet Members. We are as democratic now as we would be outside the EU.

Our trade with the EU may have fallen but 45% is still massive, and there's nothing to indicate it's a terminal, one-way decline.

And nobody's saying the UK can't trade. The question is whether we could get better deals than we currently do.

Oh here we go, the bloody 'fearmongering' excuse again. The video makes no attempt to refute the £3000 claim, but simply dismisses it as 'idiotic'. As for scaremongering, what about its pathetic claims about further integration, which we have already secured an opt-out to, and we can veto and block anyway! That's scaremongering!

Typical eurosceptic drivel, 3/10. Nice graphics, and starts out being reasonable but rapidly descended into tin foil hat territory.

"Its like heaven for the politician because its power without accountability."

"It was devised to make sure so the great mass of people could not control government ever again."

Why would anyone in their right minds vote Remain?

What?!?!? Are you willing to make "a leap in the dark"? :toofunny:
Spoiler:
Show
To think that people used to die for their country, and now many can't be bothered to risk economic uncertainty for a few years.

Because the video is not telling the truth. The EU has a considerable degree of democratic input, and EU officials are considerably constrained. Have you seen how long it takes the EU to frame a new law? Westminster can potentially do it in a day, but normally it takes about 8 months or so. It's normal in Brussels for a Directive to be negotiated between Member States, Parliament and Commission for years at a time.

Youre the only person in Britain who would have known that.

And of COURSE the video is telling the truth. What a crock of an argument that is! LOL.

Over ten thousand employees of the EU earn more than the PM.

Not a lie.

The EU has decimated the UK's fishing Industry.

Not a Lie.

Why dont you watch it and list these lies that you say are present?

at least 1,000 public service employees in the Uk earn more than the UK Prime Minister.
What's your point?

The Uk PM has historically been low paid.
The average Vice Chancellor of a UK University earned nearly twice as much as the PM

It's entirely irrelevant. There's no metric there for whether that's overpayment, not does it consider the number (ten thousand) to be disproportionate to a Union of half a billion people.

Classic example of provocative numbers plucked from thin air without context.

Overfishing has decimated the UK's fishing industry. Tell me, if we left the EU, and were left to fish as much as we like, how long do you think fishing stocks will last? Do you think fish grow on trees?

Why dont you watch it and list these lies that you say are present?
I already did.

Well you clearly dont understand whats happening. Those fish, are still being pulled from our waters weve fished for centuries, except theyare being pulled out by the fishing fleets of other member states of theEU. Whule we spend millions on importing our fish from Norway. And Im not talking about half a billion members of theUnion, Im only taking about employees of the EU. Its the EU gravytrain. The context is here, in the vid, at 12:25 in. https://vimeo.com/166389884

Yeah, that's the europhobe's answer alright.

Yes, you are correct that other Member States are fishing in our waters, because our waters have the lion's share of the EU's fish. The EU is entirely on our side that other Member States are taking the michael. The problem is enforcement. It's a thousands-of-miles long stretch of sea. How do you propose to prevent other ships from raiding our waters?

The EU at least has a common inspection machine throughout the Union to weed out violators and get compensation. It's not perfect, but it's there. If we left the EU, we'd have no international mechanism by which we could drag up the Spanish for breaking the law.

So tell me, how would you deal with this?

Well thats not true. English fishermen are simply not allowed to fish those waters, under rules set by the EU

The problem is of course, those fish have no respect for our borders and should stay in our coast. We need to end this farcical freedom of moment in the ocean. And don't get me started on migrating birds.

Of course this video is telling the truth. You really think it's an entire documentary out of lies simply because you disagree with it? Saying it's not true is a rather pointless argument, like saying "I'm voting Remain because the EU is better." Oh, well, that's a very persuasive, thought out argument.

Government spent £9 million of taxpayer's money on that shi**y leaflet now it's our turn to produce our crowdfunded, low budgeted film that shows our side of the argument.
