I have been offered a place at UWE to study law but I have to do a foundation year, this would mean that it would be for 4 years of university. My second option is to go to Portsmouth university and do a normal degree.

I am wondering what to do, what would you do?
I would also like to now if i am eligible for a maintenance loan if i do a foundation year and if yes what amount would it be?

    Thanks

Yes you can get a maintenance loan on a foundation year. UWE certainly isn't a better university than Portsmouth, so if you're happy to go to Portsmouth then I say forget UWE. A foundation year is only worth doing if you don't feel academically ready for the first year of university, or if you want to go to a particular university.
