I need to know a few reasons why this rebellion failed (e.g. bad leadership, the belief that the king was was chosen by God and therefore to against him would lead to a punishment from God, the reaction of the government and so on?) and was it really a threat to the throne with two sides to the argument?

Bad leadership- there were hardly any nobles involved apart from Humphrey Arundell
It was also far from London so less of a threat. It did not manage to gain much widespread support.
The government reacted really harshly by slaughtering nearly 3,000 people.
