Last week I recieved a letter from sfe saying my final amount was £3821, and I had been assessed for household income. I knew this was incorrect , and thankfully today I had a new letter come through saying my amount would be £7000, which is what I expected after household income was taken into account. HOWEVER, on my letter today, next to the £7000 it said this was the basic amount and they were yet to take my household income into account ?? Surely it should have said this on my previous amount of £3821? It also said something( about on the £7000 letter ) that my hmrc sponsor 1 variance exception had been requested. The reason I'm confused was as the incorrect amount letter said everything was completed and fine , and I'd be getting £3821, yet on the correct letter amount of £7000, it says what it says about not yet assessing income and hmrc. Surely it should be the other way round?

Sounds like it should be the other way around. £7000 (even if you plan on studying in London) certainly isn't the non income assessed amount.
