I received an accommodation offer at Sunderland University and I am required to pay a £300 booking fee.
When I went into accept it the declaration said this

"I understand that once I accept this contract and pay my booking fee and later do not take up the accommodaiton offer, this contract will be terminated and my booking fee will not be refunded."

I am now worried if I do not meet my conditional offer requirements that I will lose out on £300. I asked some people on a facebook group and one said £250 is refundable but I can't see that anywhere on the university website. I've emailed them also but awaiting a reply. Just wondering if anybody else has gone through this for any other universities and can help me???

    It's on the site

    Booking fee
If you are an Exchange/Study abroad student or an English for Academic Purposes (EAP) student please visit your unique accommodation pages for more information on your booking fee.

    University managed accommodation

All students applying for university managed accommodation will pay a 300 GBP booking fee payment at the time of accepting a room offer, which is then deducted from the first termly instalment. If a student is having difficulty paying the booking fee they must contact the Accommodation Office at their earliest possible convenience. If a student fails to attain the necessary results to attend the University a refund of 250 GBP will be provided to the student (50 GBP acting as an administrative fee).

The website is so unclear!! When I went to actually book for my accomodation it said the payment wouldn't be refunded if I didn't take up the offer! I've processed it all now though.

    Thank you!
