Sounds exactly like my school sports day only with more scary people and boats.

Elles, it sounds brilliant for you, and exactly why I couldn't go. How much do you have to pay to get into the posh dress, and what exactly are these scary dress rules?

I don't know what I'm doing for most of the summer - a couple of camps with Rangers, friend's b'day party soon but apart from that...no idea. I need a job :frown:

rules for that specific enclosure were women could not wear trousers & skirts/dresses had to be below the knee & no splits. which ruled out my repetoire of on-the-knee pretty sundresses!

but TBH, we spent more time on a picnic table in a random field with a big group of people, so.. no idea what badges would sell for (the other half acquired some guest ones through some rowing contact..smoozing can get you everywhere it seems, lol) but my distinctly non-rah family were perhaps more excited by the idea than me..!

I have a job lined..full time 2 months.. it does make me appreciate student-ness all the more though!

our random boat were fastest non-qualifiers..!

it was good fun (although that was probably mostly my company). with my 2 days notice i had a slight dress dilema, but in the end went for a fabulous floral slightly retro number (that cost me nothing & was actually genuinely about 30 years old - oh my mother had good taste! ). but i did conclude that money can't really buy you class, so.. lol.

Baz - is there an age restriction? ahem..i'm 20, yes..

anyway, i was just there in a being taken out for the day & spoiled capacity (plus being introduced to a few school-friend-rahs & inspiring more "lucky boy" comments.. ).

I do incidentally have a very small hamper - perfect size for champagne bottle & two flutes (has seen lots of action since trinity started!)

Helenia..what are you doing with yourself over the summer..? & congrats on the exam results!
I saw a few Oriel boaties around and they're going to make the September training camp hell for boaties from your college; I feel sorry for Mr. Morris...

And you meet his school friend... one of them is bad enough, a how group would be hellish.

Well that would rule out most of my wardrobe too

Your bf sounds like he has amazing connections *not jealous in any way *

Oooh, what is your job going to be? I needs one :frown:

i think it was a general boatclub thing.. despite credentials, he's not the smoozing vacuous rah type  but pff, personality and other such triffles matter not when you're that hot anyway..

my job is in the clinical education dept. of a local hospital..no idea what it involves yet but reasonable pay & lots of hours. & hopefully some human contact! i spent my entire last summer re-doing an achive system with 1000s of files & a radio for company..horrific!

(am i responsible for digressing this thread..sorry!)
