If you do miss out by 1 grade then I think that you will have a very good chance of your Uni taking you. I assume that they must have liked you to make you an offer so I would say that they would rather have you who they know and like rather than someone they are effectively gambling on through clearing.

if its on the clearing list, then u really should have any worries??? if it is on the clearing list, the uni will try and fill up the spaces, so if you do get the grades you predict yourself, just ring the uni and plead them for a place.

I'd say your GCSE results will play a large part in whether you're accepted to your course.

some uni courses demand grades, eg, my offer is 3 b's

some uni's ask for points. here are the points for A2 grades

A=120
B=100
C=80
D=60
E=40

AS's are half of these.

therefore if your uni place was based on points the grades you are predicting would come to...

A2 B=100
+
A2 C=80
+
A2 D=60
+
AS D=30

making a total of 270 points.

If your uni is demanding BCC, i suspect you might be ok, but i cant promise obviously! if they are asking for points then yes, your as d will count.

have a look at the clearing thread and take the advise in. best to be sure if all is not to plan.

If you have AS levels IN ADDITION to your full A-levels then Universities may take these into account when they decide whether to give you a place or not - I would assume anyway, surely a person with BCDd is more attractive than BCD???

You would expect so, I'm hoping that my AS B will have some leverage if I fall slightly short of my BBB requirement.
