    Hello,

I've got two bank accounts, a savings account from birth and a debit account which I just got.

For my student loans I gave them my debit account. Was this a good idea?

The thing is, I've been doing surveys and stuff to get money using my debit account and I'm kind of concerned that this will leave it more exposed to hacking and, thus, could have the student loan stolen when it's in there.

Should I open a seperate bank account for my student loan or for the surveys or something or what?

    Thanks!

Could be wrong but I think you can't make student bank accounts until 1st July. (I tried and said I couldn't yet.) I might make the student bank account seperately for my loan and then keep my current account for spare change, etc.

You can open a student account once you have a confirmed uni place. Student accounts come with handy things like pre-agreed overdrafts.

Other than that, for SF you just need to give them a bank account which is in your name. You can change the details on your application over the summer if you want to (or apply with the bank account details blank until you get one). Just make sure that SF have the correct bank details well before your first Maintenance Loan installment is due.
