I'm moving into a specialist arts school into year 10, beginning my GCSE years, and I felt as if I should take advantage of their facilities by taking an arts subject (In addition to Visual Art and Design, the subject I was accepted on) and I chose GCSE drama as an enjoyable break in the week. However, I didn't want to cut off my academic side or my choice of universities (even though I've been told that GCSE results aren't as important to them as A-level) as I am quite an academic person and wanted to take Geography as well. I heard you can self teach yourself a subject and then pay to enter the exam and I wondered if anyone could tell me -
    * how much extra work this is? (my day will be longer than at other schools)
    * how much it costs to enter an extra exam?
    * who I'd need to ask about doing this?
    * where I could approach to take the exam (Staffordshire area??)

    Thank you!
