im taking a levels next year and i have a couple of questions. first, last year i sat my gcse in core science. at the time i didnt know what i wanted to do, so i didnt really take it seriously. i got a B. now i have realised that i want to do a physics degree, but i dont think that a prestigious university would like it if i had a B in one of my science gcses.
im predicted A* maths, additional science, business studies, media studies and at a push english language, with A's predicted in geography and english lit, as well as hopefully an A in additional maths. i also took art (regret) and am hoping for a B or above in that. if all goes to plan and i dont get really bad questions in the exams i should be getting 5A*, 3A's and 2B's. my question is will good universities just throw away my application if they see the B in science? if i get good AS results would that counteract it? any advice would be really helpful, thanks!
Will a bad grade in the subject I want to take affect my university application? Watch

Don't worry! Normally when University's look at GCSE grades, they only check to see if you achieved a C grade or higher, a B would be fine. With those expected results, not many university's will reject you. Good AS results and later good A2 grades are really what's important for Uni applications.
Quick disclaimer, is is just what I've been told as I massively screwed up on of my GCSE's and was told it didn't matter.
