declining stigma with divorce so more people get divorced = lone-parent families/one person households

feminists have change womens aspirations -> career driven = lone parent families / triple shift / dual earner

women can be financially stable without a man -> they divorce/dont get married in the first place (Allan and Crow) -> one person household / lone parent families

people still valuing the institution of marriage but not their partner -> remarry = step families and dual earner families
