I took temporary withdrawal due to not enjoying my course. I was told that I could return and study my new chosen subject; and due to this subject having a higher GCSE requirement than I have (by 1 grade) I was told flexibility would be given on the GCSE grade due to my A levels being much higher than the minimum required. I have all of this in writing as I have been communicating with the Student Progress Officer.

Now the Student Progress Officer is telling me I won't be able to return since my GCSE grade does not meet the minimum required, even though I was told flexibility would be given.

Is there anything I can do?

They may have forgotten that they offered flexibility in your case. Just photograph the letter, or forward the email where it was written and explain to them what's happened. I'm sure it's a genuine mistake.
