Can a higher concentration of a weak acid give a higher pH than a dilute strong acid? watch

    Hi, I am struggling with the ideas of strong and weak acids (namely their relevance to the pH scale), so is it possible for a weak acid to have a higher pH if it is in a higher concentration than a strong acid?

    I assume that you mean lower (more acidic) pH.

    The answer is yes.

    1.0 M ethanoic acid has a lower pH (2.9) than 1 x 10-3 M HCl (3.0)
