Last year i was doing Maths, Economics and Psychology at AS. Having failed Maths i was told not to worry and that i can do a third year in college.

Fast forward to now. Im doing A2 economics and psychology and AS Business and computing that i picked up in september. the idea was to finish off business and computing next year and apply to uni but ive been told that there may not be places in college next year and that i need to apply to uni. this is the great part. my predicted grades dropped from ABCC in september to DEEE now and i cant find any economics courses that would accpet that.

I know im gonna have to apply through extra but my question is, should i apply for anything i can scrape and pray i do well and can apply through clearing or look for an apprenticeship?

I recon you should wait till clearing and see what you can find then, there can be foundation years in clearing so there should be something for you

You need to fill in a UCAS application with a reference and then you ll get given a clearing number to use.

Although you could wait for Clearing when you have your actual results to hand, you can also apply now; it's worth checking out what is still open for applications at the moment. You don't have to use Extra because you will have five choices to use up first. If you don't get any offers, or don't want those you do get, you can still go through Clearing.

If your grades aren't likely to be good enough for an Economics course you need to explore alternatives - perhaps some business courses with economics modules included would be worth considering.
