I want to buy my teacher chocolates?

I go to college and have been doing English and Maths, my Maths teacher is the nicest person I have ever met really, She's really helped me out and always been really nice to me she called me lovely in the staff room when we had a chat about how the course was going.

I'm a guy, 20 and she is 50 to get that out of the way straight away haha, I feel it would be wrong for me not to buy her anything, and right to buy her something I am thinking of a cadbury milk tray (Type in Google in you're not sure) they are a selection of chocolates just to say thanks, so What I want to know is, would it be right to buy her a milk tray? I'll knock on the staff room on my last day and just say thanks for all the help, and I'm bought this for you to say thanks but I don't want it to come across the wrong way (I don't think it will) I asked my mate and he said she might feel embarrassed? Another mate said she will appreciate it and my thoughtfulness?

So please comment and will look forward to hearing your thoughts, please be honest this means a lot to me

In college me and my friends brought a bunch of stuff for our favourite history teacher (chocolates and a football shirt) and he was honestly delighted. I say do it, I'm sure she isn't going to think you fancy her.
She'll appreciate it (especially as at college students don't really do this like they did during primary school etc). Go for it!
I think it'd be a really nice gesture!
I'm getting chocolates and a thank you card for a couple of teachers who've been really supportive, as are many of my friends
i bought my teacher a pair of gold tiffany cufflinks and he loved them i gave them to him a few weeks before the end and he wore them every day until then
so go ahead
give her chocolates and a thank you card for telling you helped me a lot with my studies, much appreciated :h:
that would be good enough :cute:

I got chocolates and cards for all of my teachers to say thanks last year. :giggle: My favourites (of which, I had 2) got an Amazon gift card too

It's not weird, it's a lovely thing to do and she'll certainly appreciate it! If you are worried about embarrassment, you can present it to her privately in her classroom :yep:
Yes its fine. Write her a card as well. Up to you but couldnt you go a bit better than Milk Tray ? They are a pretty cheap brand. Maybe nip to the shops and get a box of Thornotns Continentals or to M&S and see what Belgian chocolates they have c 150-200g? Not for me to spend your money, but id get some nice ones she might enjoy.

Every year in school, someone bought one of their teachers chocolates.

Hell, in secondary school, one of the locals gave our form tutor a damn car (but that's dubai rich mentality!)

Thorntons always says "I have no clue about chocolates, but I went to thorntons because I really appreciate how you've helped me and I want to show that". If you're worried about things being weird, they shouldn't be - it's a very common thing. But if you're still a bit "should i, shouldn't i", then split it between some classmates.

Amazing responses thank you so so much!!!

A Cadburys Milk Tray is basic you know, nothing too special so it is perfect to be honest I don't know much about chocolates anyway, you can get different ones so a small one with only 1 side and a 2 sided one with 2 of the same selections? She told me today she is buying our class some chocolates which is ironic?!?

I don't finish the course for another few weeks probably because we have exams on Friday haha. I'll be 100% going to Sainsburys for the chocolates so any other than the Milk Tray that everyone likes, then let me know

How is the cat? Still going?

Thornton's dont say that to me. Continentals are fine, they are just a bit better quality that something like a box of Roses or Quality Street, whih say something different.

Ofc he could splash out and buy some specialist chocolates, but i didnt feel he had them money if the starter was Milk Tray. The card would be nicer anyway.

The suggestion of splitting it between the class to buy a gift was a good one.

She's hanging in there, just. Still spends most of her time in the corner, her fur is starting to get a bit matted behind her ears now. She has sad eyes. :frown:

Sorry to hear it, you will know if its the right time. I understand its very difficult especially when you cant do anything. Will she still purrr. I recorded mine just before and replay it as a sound file sometimes. Hopefully you have pics and video. Am sure you will be there. till the end.

She hasn't purred in a couple of days. I'm wishing I'd recorded it sooner - she's sleeping in my recording studio and she has the most beautiful loud deep purr.

Do it - will make her day x
uh GO AHEAD if you dont want to do it alone then buy a card along with some chocolate and flowers and get the rest of your class to sign the card if you feel embarrassed. its common to buy gifts before you leave and trust me they will appreciate it much more cos they spent 2+ years maybe teaching and helping you, its the least you can give back.
