I recently graduated at Edge Hill with a 2:1 in Film Studies but I now want to go on to a primary education course (to start in 2017).

I realise I'm not in the best position to do that with only a Film Studies degree, is it still possible for me to get on the course? I have got school experience lined up with a local primary school as well.

Also, has anyone got experience with this course and could give me a rough description of what it entails? I have asked around and I've heard how the uni describe it but I'd like to hear it from someone with experience of it from a student perspective.

From what I understand as long as you have a degree in any subject you can apply for the pgce, you just might not be able to do the specialist courses (for maths, science etc). I have a sports degree and am due to start at edge hill in September on a primary pgce with a specialism in IT. If you are looking at primary pgce then you get to select a specialism that you don't actually need any experience in. As long as you can pass the skills test and have relevant experience (or have something lined up to gain experience) you should be fine!

    Good luck!

I am due to start in Septemeber doing a teaching degree in primary with QTS - can anyone recommend the best way to get hold of childrens books (which I need to have read before I start) and make notes on them. Do I just buy them or are the available free online anywhere?

Thanks. Sorry to jump on your thread! I am new to this website and don't know what I am doing! lol xxx

library is probably your best option. If you check on Amazon they list the books in age categories to give you an idea of things to read. I don't know of any free online sites.
