Is it possible to get into oxbridge or imperial for an Msc computing course with a high 2:1? eg 68% degree mark.

Most of the people I know who go there have solid 1st classes. So why would they take any strong 2:1 students unless they where short of 1sts(which is unlikely). Has anyone got in with a 2:1 purely on academic grounds?

Yes, they will. Friend of a friend's doing a Phd at Oxford with a 2:1.

Depends on the course and competition for places. I'm doing a PhD in biology at Oxford and quite a lot of students in science have 2.1's, because science isn't very popular. However, I'd be amazed if anyone with less than a first got in for economics.

2.1 can get you a place but it might be a bit dodgy funding wise
