    for the RELIGIOUS STUDIES GCSE EXAM IF YOU GET A D in the first unit and an A in the second one what overall grade would you get

    Generally, the raw marks are added. There may be a weighting but this is based on the marks for the exam so if the first unit was out of 60 and the second was also out of 60 then you would get half way between an A and a D which would be B or C. If paper 1 was out of 120 and 2 was out of 60 then this would move your mark towards D and if the first paper was out of 120 and the second out of 60 this would move you towards A

    I do not know what the marks are for papers 1 and 2 of RS but you could look that up.

    If the examiners found that one paper was massively easier then they might adjust things but on a paper that so many people sit, this is unlikely.
