The same for me but I saw her at a festival shortly afterwards so I'd probably have heard of her after that. I think a lot of people had heard of her before then because she was on the main stage and Seth Lakeman, who was also nominated, was in a crappy little tent.
Amazon says her album was released a year ago this month :s:

That's true but no one knew she existed until she was nominated for the Mercury Music Prize. Except for some people who listen to Radio 2 maybe but who cares about them.
OT: I haven't slept all night. I am absolutely shattered. Bloody insomnia. Off to lectures now
I'm sooooo stiff from circuits. :frown: And I HATE sharing a single bed, it just makes it so much worse :frown: *legs fall off*

ah well, law today, and I think we're starting on Negligence this term. I'll be watching for the £ signs forming in the real Law students' eyes
Someone said Pound sign, did they?

hmmmmm money....

How and why did I let rowing take over my life?

Well your heart knows you better than you know yourself. So you should let it do all the talking.

does it make any sense? I think not.

it's a horrid trap to fall in to. I've got to the stage where I'm torn over severely cutting back on the rowing next year so that i can concentrate on doing some of the other things I would really like to do while at cambridge, but then I would have to pay the price of losing fitness etc which I really dont want to happen. On top of that if I don't achieve all I want to achieve from rowing, I just can't see myself giving it up. Grrr!

Because it seemed like a good idea at the time. These things do in novice term, but the reality of Lents is somewhat harsher. Several of my friends have quit this term because they'd been rowing most of their time at Cambridge and wanted a break.

I think that things would be fine if I didn't have such a busy term ahead in terms of supervisions, CUSU and the other extra curric, let alone trying to stay in touch with friends. Am sure it will be fine, just got a bit freaked out by the email naming the 1st VIII going out. I was always so sceptical of rowing...
UBS wants to see me (and others) in Po Na Na to find out more about "internship opportunities" on 24th from 7pm onwards...I wonder if the alcohol there is going to be free for that evening... em...
I know this is really childish, but did anyone happen to get a picture of Riley's balloon rubbings at the 1a physics b course last thursday? If you were there, you probably know the one to which I am referring...

i got that as well. i reckon you'll get a token for two free cocktails or something.
But if you flirt with them you can always get more. May not work so well for you two though
