I'm panicing about revision. Is it normal to have not done very much???

You are panicing about revision? I am panicing about learning my stuff from last term for the first time.

In other news. Did anyone see tonight's Beauty and Geek? When they asked "What is the chemical formula for salt?" I thought ****, this is a tough one and spent an awfully long time to remember what it is... *sigh* I used to be so good at chemistry...

can't we all be a little less stereotypical please!? It's making me feel out of place

Everyone knows revision starts a week after lectures finish.
You've all still got weeks of partying, unless you're a third year with nasty dissertations to write.

A.
Willa - THAT's why YOU'LL be the one with the First and we will *cough* ... the less said the better. Tbh, I have revised but not as much as I could/should have...but still 10 ish days till lectures start - time to put pedal to the metal me thinks!!!

The stereotype I was referring to was also the one where someone says: "Oh my god I've only revised like half of my course, i'm so screwed!". can't we have less talk about how much/little revision we have done to mean that we think we are going to "fail" our exams? I don't think anyone in cambridge (well, maybe a one or two) can say that at this stage they have done enough revision to feel confortabley on top of it. I know I haven't, and it's clear you lot haven't. So less stressing over it please, we're all in the same boat!
Presactly. Panicking must be kept to a quiet level in one's rooms late at night, surrounded by books you don't understand. I refuse to be drawn into the "OMG REVISION EXAMS IM GOING TO DEI" mentality.

FU! :frown: :bawling:
I'm going on rowing camp for a week. Am thinking this might be a less than good idea.
It's rowing, of course it is.

Excisely, I compsolutely agree.
OK, I've been at home for a week and so havn't been online. I need to make some comments here, on the posts on the previous page and this, so:

1) Unfortunately Helen couldn't wear that dress. For a start, unlike Kiera she has a figure. OK, I'm stopping there...

2) Visesh + Veet = ? We want to know...

3) I wasn't entirely alone, i met a mystery person and we talked. It was Bumblebee3, btw, I texted earlier.

4) I'm around back in cam now, anyone want to try again?

5) My Black Death Themes and Sources essay is 1,000 words over the limit. And has a 5 page bibliography. I've managed my usual thing of trying to fit a gallon of work into a pint pot. Just about managed it... I think i went a little over the top on teh reading. BUT on teh plus side, I THINK I've got an original point of view. i hope so...

6) EDITED!
Psst. We're not allowed to talk about exams or revision in this thread. Edit edit edit!

no it's ok to mention that you havent started revising, you just arent allow to say that that implies you are going to "fail".
I haven't done any revision. hehe. and i'm not just saying that. i have done none. BUT that's ok. because my exams are worth 30% of my final mark so psh to exams. but hello project report (which i have done 1/4 of and its in on the tuesday after next) but i have been ill with sinusitis (bleugh!)so i have an excuse (and maybe even an extension!)
I have had 3 hours of sleep today and feeling absolutely fine. This can't be good. This just can't be good... Since when did Seth start smoking pot in the OC? Oh god... don't tell me I'm gonna get hooked on that stuff again. This sucks.
Yeah, pot sucks. Don't do it.
you're doing themes and sources already James? I seem to remember Peter doing his Black Death thing early in the the second year.. have they moved it since then or did i just misunderstand?

6) I've not even STARTED revision yet. And prelims are in, oh.. 11 and a bit days and counting! I've spent FAR too long on this themes and sources essay and havn't started. Grr.

James - A five page bibliography? What size font did you use? :p:

Also, you do realise that the T&S essay doesn't count, right? You're not going to be doing the long essay on precisely the same topic, so whyy?

Selena - T&S short essays are due in in Easter Term of the first year, the long essay is in in Lent Term of the second. We've written our short essays (due in the week after next) and the long essay (which actually counts) is due in after Christmas.
ahhh ok that makes much more sense, thanks rhian.
