Cambridge Chat (previously New Cambridge Students Entry 2004)

I'm trying to decide which activity is teh more masochistic...

rowing or techieing. Bear in mind that I've spent teh past 15 hours at Emma techieing and lugging stuff around and setting up and taking down an entire PA and lighting system on my own. And after 3 hours sleep adn a quick breakfast I'm techieng at Clare until Tuesday lunchtime or so.

Hmm... I couldn't really decide!
what about someone who does both? :p:

in other news, i drove my car for the first time yesterday! (with my dad i might add) it will be a few days before i'm up to driving on my own i think.

I would say I am almost doing the equivilent of both. I have just done BCD, slept for less than a handful of hours, done downing tribe AND emma event, and now I am 10 mins away from having to jump in a boat and go rowing. I really don't think I am up for it!

All I can do is point and laugh.

Annoyingly, I think I've caught my friend's cold. This is what happens when you go sharing drinks/kissing each other. I can't face going into town to go shoe shopping and I have NO idea how I'm going to stay awake all night tonight...
I'm similarly wondering how I'll stay up all night.

eek! good luck with the rowing  hope you get some sleep soon! Jesus May Ball tonight, am really looking forward to it.
Happy birthday yesterday, Will!
Well, nearly there. Had haircut, techied all mornign and afternoon, and now all night too. And then the morning.

Huzzah...

I think. I'm crazy and masochistic and insane.
I just met blissy and daveo.

They're nice.

Now please excuse me whilst I go to bed and sleep for about 24 hours straight.
Clare Ball was pretty good last night! I think I saw you a few times, Helen, you walked past me/ I walked past you a few times and I think you went on the bouncy castle after me. I couldn't stand up on it, and fell over my drunken friend.
How were the balls last night then? We were on the river for the fireworks - we were very impressed! (Particularly with some of the music choices: Pirates of the Caribbean accompanies punting quite well...)

Out of sheer nosiness, who were the main acts?

Trinity went for four smaller bands rather than 1 big and 2 small.

guillemots - seemed alright, didn't hear that much
The Rakes - pretty good
The Deadbeats - Immense!!!
Enamel (a third year's band, the guy who sang the facebook song and is advertising his album on facebook) - didn't hear much, but again good from what I did hear
The Bamboos - was too busy trying to get silly amounts of champagne but heard they were good.
I'm leaving Cambridge tonight...can't believe it's one year down and I'm a third of the way through my degree, feel kind of sad.
Jesus was great, lots of fun! Looking forward to Pembroke on Wed.

try being 2/3 of the way through, and even less sure what it is you want to do than when you started!

How come you are leaving early? Aww, I know what you mean, it is kinda weird to think the first year is over already!

I forgot to look for you! I saw Dave and Alice in the queue but then lost them completely. I was in the big purple meringue dress. Were you/were you with the girl in the black dress which got ripped on the bouncy castle? That was sooooo fun, although such hard work keeping all my skirts out of the way!

Awesome night, am so going to die before the end of John's...

Clare was brilliant - I had a really great time! I've also just been given a free ticket to Wolfson event on Friday, so I've still got 3 to go. I wonder if I'll make it...

Made it back to Cam for Suicide Sunday, not quite the same as it was, but it's still much more pleasant than London and had a real good time. Certainly doesn't make me want to go back to work

A.
Yay, I have passed everything. No resits in September. Hoorah, etc.
