I'm taking a couple of cake tins. You can borrow whenever you want.

This is my biggest worry about being among new friends at uni... I can't just say stuff like that, in case those weird people are right there! gah. Or in case it makes me look like a weird person (how long do you think you should have known somebody before it's OK to admit that you've farted?)

Hey I just looked on your profile and you're a day younger than me! Hurrah.

Lol..you know what...i looked at your profile just before i read this post.,..and i was about to mention it as well...although..i think mine was gonna be more along the lines of....hey...you're a day older than me....booo...:frown:....

Erm....how long before saying you've farted.....i never normally say anything...lol...hopefully it won't be a smelly one. Although i do generally try not to fart when i'm in a confined space with other people....lol

Speaking of profiles and dates of birth I seem to recall that priya (I think) would be a day younger than me if I was born exactly a year earlier than I actually was (if that makes sense  )

 A bit of a different theme than normal, but it would obviusly depend on: the stink, and the people ur with, i.e. just blokes or elsewise......

That depends on where you are! In Trin Hall, most of the kitchens have ovens (on the worktop) and/or microwaves, even if the kitchen is the size of a broom closet

The 2nd year site has it better though...proper kitchens!

well, this place finally let me register.... took long enough. Have kind of migrated here through various links from the newstudent.org site since this place seems a bit busier. I'm reading philosophy at Trinity Hall this year. Dammit I'm scared now! My first (and really close) friend left for uni this morning and all of a sudden it's so real, we're actually going. *shit.*

But you guys seem nice. A little crazy, but that's good. Myabe you can entertain me wile I wait for any scrap of information the college feels like sending me (am I just being impatient? I am pretty impatient. But three weeks seems a long time since results - surely they could send more than a room ballot form by now. )

Heya! Nice to see another TitHaller around!

According to an email from the JCR Pres, fresher stuff e.g college families, will be out this week! Impatient? I currently feel like I could do with another few weeks off!

If you are female and attractive..then yes.....

Seriously tho..if i get round to making them..and we all meet up..i'll try and bring them

G
OK so I have come to the conclusion that not only will I not tell anyone I've farted during the first week, I actually shouldn't fart at all? *note to self: do NOT pack baked beans.*

Thanks for the inside info. There's a whole load of stuff I'd like to know from a current student, but if the freshers pack is coming I'll wait for that, and pester you in a PM for anything it doesn't tell me  I didn't even know there was such thing as a college family until reading this thread  So, I'm going to be adopted?! Sounds fun.

for most people the freshers packs seem to be such an anti-climax when you get them....they're not all that great.

And I'm still panicing about this silly freshers party thing....i still havent receieved any word back about whether i have a ticket or not!

Adopted?? No...tracked down i think is more appropriate....you only get adopted if your parents don't want you..lol..

Beans are abit of a staple food when you've got a microwave....though you could get creative and steam stuff in one as well! Alternatively, once cooking talent is exhausted-head for Hall!

Heh, it'll be interesting to see which of the current Phil students you've got as parents.......the ones I know are pretty nice ppl tho!

And yeah, pester me all you like, the least I can do is ignore you   ..and I'll try to get back to you whenever Im around.
YAY! i just got 24 (series 1) out of the library! i missed it when it was on bbc 1, so i've got a week to get through 24 hours of dvds!!

well surely it's less than 24 hours because isnt each episode actually more like 45 minutes (cos of the advertising they shove in between when it went out in america)?

You can't beat me. I listened to the whole of Wagner's ring cycle (14 CDs of opera) without a break.
