I HATE this thread...I go away for just a few hours, to work, and I come back and it's moved on about 6 pages...and now I've lost the plot completely. I feel left out! So we're arguing about politics I guess? My uncle once told me it was against some unwritten rule to discuss politics or sex at the table at dinner in Oxford/Cambridge, and whoever did had to down a pint each time he did so. Doesn't sound like so much of a punishment to me but I suppose it depends on who's buying. Anyhoozle I don't buy into that "New Labour are more right than the Tories" malarkey, they can't be nationalists, what with their wanting to erase everything British in favour of rampant "multi culturalism", and they're really, really socialist economically in my view, what with wanting to eradicate the middle class and permanently trying to push the working class up to fill the gap. But maybe I'm wrong.

Just written my first letter to a friend in uni! (well to someone new at uni) She'd better appreciate it, four pages, I haven't written that much in aaaaaaaaages! It's even on nice bright colourful paper which I bought especially for letter writing! It's kind of sad though, it's full of the stuff I'd normally tell her about, having to write it down is just weird. Keep getting random messages from mates about people they're meeting or things they're doing...I'm getting jealous, these past few days have dragged on so much, why won't time fly anymore?!!

Hehe I've decided to focus on one book now cus I end up wondering which book to read and I end up not reading any of them lol Decided upon a book on prayer actually cus three people recmmended it. Should be cool.

Hehehe apparently women can multi-task but I can't well apart from speak in four active msn convo all at once so my hands are typing mad and glowing red hot I don't sound very dedicated to my education do I lol?

Oh, I read that on politicalcompass.org and also read the BNPs manifesto as part of General Studies last year  . Eleven of their twleve "ponts" are rather socialist in view, the twelvth being very authoritarian, giving them the "right-wing" look.

The teams are decided by theaman IIRC, and if there is a quiz tonight, I can't participate.

hahahahhaa, you actually did work for general studies

How can you call christian outreach work "cool"? I really hope no-one in swansea falls for it. Becoming a christian must be like agreeing to lower your iq, starting to have a much narrower (and TBH silly) outlook and starting to believe in fairytales.

    MB
Ummm considering I'm a Christian and am not particularly stupid, I would disagree. I would also consider valuing life not to be some silly narrow outlook. And seeing as I thoroughly believe in science I wouldn't say I believe in fairytales either. I know a Christian who's a Cambridge graduate so I wouldn't say he's lowered his IQ either. *sigh* I am just inviting a debate here aren't I? Well this is my reply anyway. If anyone does wanna argue, PM me - I don't wanna turn this Cambridge thread into a debate thread. But don't make assumptions as to what a Christian life is like until you've actually looked into it - you can't know what it's actually like unless you've been through it - that's common sense.

well actually we're quite a way off. Moaning thread is the biggest, followed by the (locked) harry potter thread which is at just over 10,000. Next biggest is the Footie thread, however we are hot on their heels, only about 300 posts behind!!!

But I think it is quite an achievement for us considering there are so few people who post on here. I'm pretty sure this thread must have the highest average user-post count or something (If you exclude the ones which posted only one of two posts)
