I'm in the mood for swearing, I feel like swearing,
woo, so f*** off and leave me alone*

Oops  , a little bit over top, don't you think?

Rosie. I've got an incredible immune system that specialises in killing viral infections. To get rid of the cold, all you need is a jab of my blood. All, even better, I can give you half of my genes.

Disclaimer: Camford and Shuai have different personalities. Basically means, that your neighbour is a psycho.
Monster!! Has anyone here seen Monster? It's got a R rating... for blah blah blah, wait for this ... Pervasive language... and of course there are other stuff. And it says based on a true story... I don't think I can stay put till the ending. But...Christina Ricci did look very good in the film I have to say.

um, yes.... (edges away slowly)
Well musicboy, it looks like we're going to be having some fun drunken debates in Robinson's bar over the next year or so...

Also (priya) I'm planning on joining a drama group, I just don't know which yet! To be honest they all sound a bit big. I've only been in ones with around 20 members recently so I find the idea of several hundred members (like Brickhouse) quite daunting. While we're on about drama, anyone know a Hannah Tongue? She was in my group a couple of years ago (NET rules!!!) and went to Robinson last year, but she hasn't responded to any of the messages I've attempted to send yet!

Anyone else had a medical form through? I've just been to the nurse and had my injections made up to date... needles hurt! *wimpers whilst trying to remain manly*.

Finally have people had student loan stuff through yet? I think I shoul;d have had a schedule but haven't so far... actrually, I'm going to make this a seperate thread. Ah well, to lazy to delete this paragraph. Never mind.

thing is though, although the drama groups will be big, we all audition for the plays, so when we come to doing them, the casts wil be quite small. join the ADC with me!!!
*quickly scans the ADC website* Hmm, seems quite a good way of getting into the Cambridge theatre scheme. Any idea what plays they're doing?

One more question on dress. Do I need to get a small collar shirt to go with the bowtie? Or is it acceptable to use bowtie with the normal shirt (the one you use with ties)?

If you're talking for use with a DJ, then no, you need a special shirt. And learn to tie a bow tie properly.

I have a new haircut. I'm not sure if I like it yet...

i don't know, i tried to email someone there but the email was down. i might try again soon. i also asked in the cambridge gossip forum, maybe we get to pick the plays?

Surely you mean you're supposed to use a special shirt, though you could probably get away with a cheap white one (or fork out yet more cash for a dress shirt with frills abd stuff).

I shall have a look at what the ADC have done before, probably get an idea of what styles and genre's they tend to go for.

BTW your worshipful-ness, Squishy said something about his college aunt being president of the Brickhouse.

Yes, you are only supposed to get a proper shirt, and you would look a bit silly in an ordinary one if it's a posh occasion, though I'm sure you wouldn't be the first. You don't need to have a frilly special one, just a plain dress shirt would do.

Finally blundered my way into this forum after living on the Downing ones.

*ahem* I'm Lucia, and I'm going to be a medic (yay!) and Downing (doubly yay!) Any fellow Downing-people out there?

 I like Acaila (though only in a minor-deity - worshipful servent kind of way  )

Surely no one would notice? I accept I could be completly wrong here, but all this does seem a tad excessive. Are there any places you can rent DJs in Cambridge?

I would probably notice, and I'm not one of the people who has spent their life knowing these things. It wouldn't be a hideous crime, but it'd be worth it not to commit it. And I guess there must be rental places, I just don't know where.
I just forked our £90 on a DJ from M&S. The cheapest I could find in town . Apparently, I need trousers with inner leg length of 34 inches. And the longest one they have is 33 inches. Just bought the jacket not the trousers and now I'm praying I can get away with the ones I have (They are all tailor made after all, can't be that bad. Except that they don't have that two stripes of black silky things down the out side of the legs.)

What sort of price range will I be looking if I want a plain dress shirt? I want the cheapest possible.

Bowties... The only place I can find a self-tie bowtie is from M&S and it cost a tenner. Also, you can buy bowtie with cumband for £22. What's this cumband used for anyway? I'm completely useless when it comes to evening wear.
If I had known the dress code in Cambridge was this complicated, I'd have decided not to apply in the first place.

Well an SPSer Binsonite with a penchant for drama is going to be my idol! Duh!

EDIT: Minor Deity that goes for you too! Come join me in the ickle Binson/SPS box
Has anyone here seen a film called Whale Rider before? I believe this film came out last year sometime.
I'm taking my movie collections with me to Cambridge whatever happens. If you want to watch any of them, make sure you got DVD drive that's capapble of reading crappy discs. That rules out some of the ACER laptops.
