I think this happens to be almost the expression which comes from solving the differential equation which describes damped harmonic motion. Or in nicer terms... a mass on a spring with resistance! (in this case it's like a pendulumn somehow gaining energy?!)

So basically, draw |y| = e^x faintly, then sketch a sin graph in it, obviously starting at 0.
Wouldn't that usually be thought of as forced harmonic motion, with e^-x.sin x being DHM?

/me is glad he gave up Physics and maths

Yep. *relying hugely on intuition here*

Argh..... Looks like the cold I had yesterday has moved on (down) a bit, into the lungs now... feels like a chest infaction. Just taken 2 capsules of Amoxilin (250mg). Going to take another two at 5 or 6 pm. I hope it all goes when Sunday comes...

The maths work book.... Did you lot read the front cover? (maybe the back of the cover) It said that the questionaire will be collected during the first lecture............. Think I'll just skim through it just to check if I can't do any of them.

x= Ae^(-t) sin( at +p) or something like that. A is a constant, a is the angular speed and p is the complimentary angle. The last time I did anything on harmonic motion was during the M4 exam.

I saw all my old friends (of >7 years standing) still left in my area (there's quite a lot of us not at Uni yet or 'gapping') last night for birthday celebrations and it was just lovely, so I'm currently feeling   . Oh man.

Geoff was also there, although we still haven't had a conversation lasting more than 5 syllables .

You might as well keep it - it'll just come back during the first week anyway.

Ok, I'll keep a list of people who coome up to me and say "are you jacob/musicboy?" and tell everyone who's the winner when we meet up on wednesday.
