camford - you can share my dinners if youre nice to me. god knows i have enough tins and teabags and various random things. plus people keep bestowing equally random kitchen gadgets on me.. and i dont want to hurt their feelings by not taking them! so i now have a steamer and a georeg forman grill !?

katiyakat, i think i have possibly more luggage than anyone in the known universe. so fear not.

and yeah, SUNDAY PEOPLE RULE! (feel a bit left out, but seeing as i have only just kind of finished packing, its probably for the best)

Preempting Camford: Camford! Just go! Stop posting and go and enjoy your Freshers Week!
Just booked my taxi. So, this is it, as they say in Shrek 2. (God, I love that movie.) Train's at 1:26 pm. I'll get to Cambridge in probably 2 hours time. That makes it 3:26pm, maybe later. I hope I'm not going to be last one to get to Pembroke. And I hope, I can find a gown that'll fit me well in time, say before the tea "party" at the Old Library. I'll be missing many things that I've decided not take with me, e.g. my supersized bed.

See you guys at Cambridge.
hooray, i'm here. I have met squishy and minor deity (both of whom seem to begood guys). I am yet to sort out aninternet connection in my room :frown: but i'm sure thatwill come soon. Hope you'veall arrived safely comrades.

Sounds like the beginning of a beautiful friendship. *cue Mediteranean fog, atmospheric, forties music and Humphrey Boggart*

Can we have atmospheric 80s music?

Never fear, Willa is here!

I finally figured out how to set up a login password for these damn machines. I will hopefully get my room computer hooked up later today.

Things have sure started well here in Emma....I have already been late to my first meeting with tutors (which was hugely embarassing) and started a debate about the existence of God with my college dad and sister (they are christians....religious people are everywhere....methinks I shall have to spread my athiest word). I also met Ralfskini, but only briefly.

Life is pretty crap at the moment though, it's hard trying to make new friends and stuff when you so quickly run out of stuff to talk about! I actually popped over to Kings College last night and felt so much more at home there than I did at Emma!
But then again, I was hanging with 2 old friends and a guy I met at the freshers party, so at least I felt like I had a history with those guys. But King's seems so nice now.....argh I've made the wrong choice of college....OH GOD I'M BAD MOUTHING EMMA...WHAT HAS HAPPENED! :frown: :frown:

I'm sure I'll be loving it all up again in a few weeks time. Things are pretty crazy at the moment....I am being HUGELY disorganised so have no idea where I should be or at what time. I think I have some silly meeting today with some guy who is gonna try and convince me not to do 25% compsci.

so much to do.

Freshers week sucks!

{huggles Willa} Go look at the ducks! And you'll make friends soon enough.
Well, I'm here (again). And I've met fishpaste in the bar, twice, and he's very nice (he said I didn't look like a dominatrix last night, so that is a very good start!). I am an alcoholic on the other hand, and already doing stupid things, which I'm not sure if lex saw, and hope he didn't .

My college children are lovely, lots of the second year girls fancy my son though  I think he's great. My daughter is very quiet but also seems quite nice.

Willa *hugs* I really hope Emma gets better for you. Freshers' Week is always a bit manic and you'll meet loads of people you'll never see again. Just keep trying, no matter how hard it is, and you'll find people

i'm here!! woo!!
haven't been connected to university internet yet, need to sort out cardbus cards or something....meh. bye bye more money.
everyone having a good time then?

yeah i really do hope i find people to hang around with. I think I might have had a little success, because I was out on a late night wonder round the college grounds and found someone doing just the same....just was about about 10pm. So we got talking and stuff and ended up having quite a bit to chat about....so what I thought would be another early night to bed ended up being a sit in my room drinking tea and discussing all manor of things until about 1:30 in the morning.

But I'm looking forward to meeting all you guys, I feel like I kind of already know you lot....I've walked past pembroke 4 times now and think of Camford and Crana.

And also they painted over the red communist bar in kings  King's is going downhill politically these days . But it's still a nice bar, beats Emma's because so far Emma's has always been uber packed...it's so stupid!

I got my gown as well....it looks v. fancy. Emma's has little sort of pockets down the front (about 50 or something), which I found out have been nicknamed "penny holes"....hmm I wonder why

Cambridge food has been making me rather sick though as well....so I'm suffering a little on that front...I do hope that will go away in a couple of days though.

I just wanna find someone I feel I can hang around with. From my DoS meeting this morning I have discovered there is only 1 other 25% compsci in all of emma...and he's thinking about not doing it now cos he said something about it clashing with his rugby!

I've signed up to have a go at rowing (rah) so now have a session out on the river this saturday afternoon. I also put my name down to dry lacrosse, because it just seems to be a game where you hit each other with sticks....hmm methinks my fingers may regret such actions!

Freshers fair on wednesday is gonna be jam packed apparently...so I really dont know if I will bother going....there arent really any socieities I want to join...the only one I was interested in going to was the Korfball one, because it's the only sport I actually think I'm quite good at (being half dutch) thus is genuinely my only shot at a half-blue....which is worth a go!

Yikes...got another meeting with my DoS in 15 mins....apparently he's gonna try and talk me out of doing 25% compsci, because he sees it as wasting a quarter of my time on something I am just gonna give up. I must convince him otherwise!

Also I am having damn problems with my student loan....they wont gees money cos I dont have the right forms apparently!!!  And the student loan telephone line is permanently busy!

Hopefully I shall be able to post on here from the comfort of my own crappy crappy room by this evening!
