He's a nice chap. OK his lectures are a bit naff but then again how many lecturers aren't? :biggrin:

He has the effect of making me sleepy. Dr King's lecture is probably naff as well, but I can stay awake alright. But Hopper's lecture either makes you want to stop hopping and fall asleep or hop into a lecture that's equally as boring but has a lecturer who's got a slightly louder speaker.

Hopper is cool, I've not heard him lecturing, but he's the chairman of the company I worked for over the summer and so met him a couple of times. He has his own plane, which is cool, and a very distinctive number plate on his Range Rover. I think he's still doing his lectures for the Engineering dept this year and so you may not have any more lectures with him until he talks to you about sentient computing in the third year.

well i normally like my food...so not eating is a big thing for me. And also i'm quite light so it's not good if i lose weight. But at least i've stopped throwing up (i think).

Ummm I see. But surely if you feel full then your body's had enough so you shouldn't lose weight??? Yeah I like food too :tongue:

surprisingly enough I didn't used to, when I was a kid - couldn't be bothered to eat, can you believe it? :biggrin:

that's almost true! My dad used to wonder how was it that I was still growing I ate so little! That was when I was four though :tongue:

Well at least you're keeping your food down. Hope you get used to the food there!

Well it's a bit less timetabled than school (even for lots of natscis), unfortunately for many people (not me :tongue:

) it seems to involve longer hours than school.

The freedom can be both good and bad though, you can go to the lectures in the morning, have a nap in the afternoon (or somedays a supervision), go to the bar after tea and then do some work after closing time if needed. Living this timetable is good until the work gets longer than you expect and you end up pulling all nighters :tongue:

You must be living with some dodgy people, I don't think anyone has ever stolen my food (well except for a couple of really good mates, but I don't mind them doing it).

The 'burys was really quiet at about 8, really bizarre, almost as much as it is in holidays. Everyone else must be in the pub.

I couldn't get into the debate so had to watch it on a screen. Peter Stringfellow was rubbish! He just waffled on and on without touching the debate until his last sentence. The 2nd and 3rd debaters on the opposition were good. Still not sure if I'll join, but I want to see Patrick Stewart!

Got a bit of freshers flu. Not good with 9am lectures!

Helenia, I'll probably end up seeing you at some of the CUSAG stuff. I'd forgotten you did that!

I know. Just came back from meeting the parents and loafing the bury's. Apparently, they were drunk and they ate my ham and bread. Next time, I'll leave some poisonous stuff on it so I can send them to hell. :biggrin:
