I'll keep an eye out for you!

Well, it depends where Tescos is... I thought there was one near Midsomer Common but I'm not sure now as I've been told it's further up Newmarket Road than ASDA...

basically it's slightly nearer than sains is, but in a totally different direction. go towards (and past) grafton, come to a huge roundabout, take the right turn, go straight, and it'll be on your left. about 15 mins walk, or 5ish mins cycle. the variety is GREAT! (that place is about 5 or more times the size of the convenience store outside sidney that everyone hangs out at... )

Bad luck Will. May be next time.

What's nash equilibrium?

John Nash, professor at Princeton, shared the Economics Nobel Prize in 1994 for his work on games theory. Basically, and very simplistically, Nash equilibrium is a set of strategies for a multiple player game. It's a strand of games theory, the idea is that each player has their own strategy to maximise their gain; whilst keeping all the other players happy. Thus if a player was to change his strategy, in an attempt to improve their gain, it would effect the dynamics of the game and the others would lose out.

OK...... I need to catch on my reading to match your guys ability to do 2nd year exam papers.
I'm gonna bunk back to my room now. Need a fix. Anyway, I'll see some of you tomorrow. I'll definitely see you Will, at Larry the Great's lecture. Good night.

Ang just for KHL, the mathematical description; which personally, I have always preferred.

Maths is so much better than words sometimes.

(Edit - better copy)
You dudes are screwed up! I'll start posting in Irish so I can appeal to as many people as your maths equations do.... Ceart go leor?

Brains do too

Oooh, you've been brain-poking already then? Not fair, they let the Natscis play before we get to!

Baz, it's not dead bodies per se, it's the whole rambling obscurities about your subject as if to "prove" that you're the cleverest here. It's pointless and annoying.

oh no we've lost our top spot on this forum! I demand we be put higher up than the 2005 applicants...this is an outrage! Otherwise we have to make sure we get the most recent post...then we can be moved up!
I'm going to Larry the Great's lecture today. Yipeeeee!!!
Who is up for a college crawl on Wed night? Just walk into colleges, have a drink and hoon to next one. If stopped by porters, blag something (doesn't matter so long as it isn't true).

Let's see how many we can do in a night - I'll even let you all off trying Girton (there are only so many hours in the day..)!

Hehehehe, they have to let the professionals get in there before they let the bumbling amateurs have a go

It was annoying though - we wanted to dissect the thing further so we could get a better look but we weren't allowed to *sigh* The trials and tribulations of brain watching...

KHL, I was looking at house numbers as I walked home last night and you lot are actually opposite us! So I get to ask you - how come you have a greenhouse?
Does anyone know who brought this Freshers' flu thing to Cambridge? I guess they are over it now but I want to find then and pour a litre of vodka down their throats and then shine bright lights in their face as I force them to attend a 9am lecture tomorrow...

That's about as close as I could get to an eye for an eye.. Ah well.. A thumping headache has never stopped me before.. Girton canteen - here I come
Note to Pembroke people (as a load of us Girtonians went there yesterday):

Just has sausages, Yorkshire pudding, carrots, so many chips I could fit no more on plate even though everything was covered and most fell off!, milk drink and apple and blackberry pie with cream.

Cost = £2.68

No offence to the Pembroke chefs but I though Girton food was nicer as well as much cheaper.

Question: does anyone know a heavily subsidised college canteen in town (not a million miles from Downing site) which is both cheap and nice?

Girton may be poor and miles away from anywhere of any signifigance whatsoever, but it certainly does have its good points!

I shall wear my hat and scarf with pride

Pembroke canteen is plain sh1t. If I have my way, I'd cook myself. But I can't. Think of it this way, you only suffered once, and I'll be suffering for god knows how many years.
Larry the Great lost his shine in the lecture today :frown: . He stopped moaning!!! Can you believe that? What sort of CompSci lecturer is he if he doesn't moan half as much as I would do in an hour? :frown: I want him moan.
