Do you think that has anything to with telling someone that they didn't deserve to go to Cambridge, when they left with a First (or very high 2.1, can't remember) and as yet you're an unproven Fresher?

Shiny claimed he got into cambridge with only 3 alevels, those 3 being media studies, theatre studies and socialogy i think...yet he studied engineering. If that is true...i want an explanation for how he got through the net, cos I dont think he should have been allowed in if that's true! Obviously if he is a child prodigy or something, then that's an exception as I said. I was referring to people applying because they had 3 A's...rather than looking at what those A's were in!

yes but everyone took him seriously....which really annoyed me...and shiny refused to confirm any details...and that just annoyed me even furhther....because the people just jumped on that example!

Can't remember. Must have Biology, Chemistry. I'd guess. But I would regard Chemistry as a bit micky mouse though.

Toi be honest I didn't read the whole thread, but the point still stands, as a Fresher who has been in Cambridge 15 minutes, you have no right to say what A-Levels are or aren't good enough. I know many, many very clever people who did non-traditional A-Levels (One example, PPEist you did Physics, Media, Art and Geography, got a very respectable 2.1) and did very well in the Oxbridge enviroment. Of course traditional subjects are better suited to the Oxbridge systme, I don't think anyone could/or would deny that, but that doesn't mean people studying other subject are thickos and have no right to be here.
