Helenia, are you stalking me?!
I've seen you about more than a few times today, and not just on the river! Been such a busy day sorry I didn't say hi, but I did grin at you as we sped past you while you were getting your boat out!

Bizarre, I haven't seen you at all! And I wasn't going to say "sped" with regards to your boat. Though I have seen some very good Newnham boats (not sure if it was yours or not) as well as some fairly poor ones, but you've got so damn many! We weren't doing so great today, but once we get up to racing speed we're sat a lot better than when we're going gently.

I think I'm going to have an early night tonight, will make a nice change. And Willa - thanks for last night, the girls had a great time!

No you're right, speed wasn't really happening at that point, or at all today in fact, it was more of a technique outing I think, race starts and new twisting of bodies around riggers for extra back ache (especially with Kidney infection...wonderful  ) ! I think Artemis (the 2nd boat & my new boat, I've been moved!) are pretty darn good, the boat captains told us unofficially we're the novice 1st boat, but we're not to tell Athena, the originally intended novice first boat! Considering my height, I think I'm doing well to be in any of them, 76 novices signed up, to be brought down to 4 crews! The awful crews (my old ones ) really are awful, their cox realised yesterday she's been steering the wrong way...hence the zig-zagging from bank to bank...nearly killed our captains with heart attacks last weekend by all accounts! They take it very seriously here, the others are doing coached ergs now, but I'm not allowed until I'm healthy again! I don't mind though, a 2km erg test is approaching, I'm saving my strength!

You cycled past me a few times, about 10am the first time, along Kings Parade, I was singing...never a good thing! Then randomly saw you about and obviously on the river, you were following us way behind, I think you may have spun just after us? I have blisters from rowing, not pleasant at all...and I've been told lycra may be on the cards on Thursday! (really not liking that suggestion!)

Yes. Everything else has pairs of factors, therefore an even number in total.

but why!?

I saw the Newnham boat on the river, but didn't look closely enough to see you in it.

We have novice T-shirts, we're NOT wearing lycra. Am a bit pissed off that we're not rowing with cleavers, but never mind.
Willa

Divisors comes in pairs. So, for every divisor a number has, there must also be a compliment divisor for which these two's product is the number. But, as for a square, it has a repeated divisor. Therefore, square numbers are the only ones which have odd numbers of divisors.

Have you tried the Torus Trooper game that was linked in the Pem Newsletter? Its brilliant.

Not yet, but I'll definitely visit that page again when I get a laptop... Warning, could be 20 years.

y'know, I was just thinking that when willa asked why!

I'm 5 (even though I think I'm one of the shortest!) and always wear a wooly hat!

We have t-shirts, or rather we will have hopefully by the weekend, I also bought the hoodie ( I'm a sucker! ) but the lycra is for secret reasons! Might explain in person sometime...

Cleavers are not that different, I reckon they're harder to feather and more people seem to catch crabs with them, I've only done that once and it was so scary I never want to do it again! It's easier to tell if the blade is straight though.
I'm worried I like rowing too much, there's nothing particularly exciting about it yet I do find it quite fun! Fun enough to miss it when I can't go out, to brave all weather and enough to wake up stupidly early when I never have 9am lectures!

That's crazy!! What kind of research are you expected to do? Do they need more people? However, if I had my way, I'd pay them that much (if I had it that is!) and then make them take it away!

lol, no they didnt giev it to me if that is what you were thinking! they just gave the money to a charity which is going to use it to fund the research! (although I am being an experimental subject for a research project in leeds..lol). I just wrote to say thank you to them in a general way! but it just got me quite excited :frown:

Oooh, I'm intrigued! Unfortunately I'm really not sure if I'm going to make it to any CUSAGC stuff in the near future, I'm just too damn busy :frown:

So much for my early night
Oh my god. So my friend from home sends a letter to me addressed

and blatantly the porters don't know who deliver it to. But I'm in the porters lodge today, and I'm talking to the porter, and he's like, "you don't happen to be known as the jolly white giant do you?" and I'm like "Uh, sounds familiar." And yeah I got my letter. How impressive is that? Dedicated porters I think so.

Yeah, they do seem to have the uncanny ability to just know who you are.

I had one glass of wine tonight (125ml). First glass in god knows how many weeks.

The small Christmas formal I had planned out for my sixform mates aren't going to happen since we are not allowed to bring any guests... Ah well, at least I get to see my mildly expensive wine mould while it sits on my shelf and does nothing.

I'm currently mildly depressed... due to various reasons... may consider to commit suicide again. Only mildly more determined this time... to such an extend that I will not kill myself.

Has anyone done q10 for the first Discrete Maths Exercise? I know I have the right answer, but I just can't prove they are right. But they are right.
